Ideas to support mental health.
Here in the US we are looking at an extended period of restrictions due to COVID 19. Other countries are starting to see a decrease in deaths and a more manageable situation overall. In the UK, Dr. Barnardos, the largest children’s charity, recently completed a report on the mental health of young people during the COVID 19 pandemic. The report highlights “what kept children well” in their own words during the restrictions.
In my house we have used this as a conversation starter. For example, what things could we do more? What are we doing well? Are these things supporting us as a family? Can we think of other things not mentioned here? Looking at this helps us realize we are already doing quite a few of these things, and that felt empowering!
